Let me tell you a little bit about our philosophy, why we built this the way we built it, and how we do things around here. Because it makes a difference.
Who We Are
We’re RC Car Fans. Based out of Richmond, Virginia where the terrain is broken glass, brick patio streets with roots growing through them, giant potholes, sandy surfaces, gravel, dead leaves and whatever else the city decides to throw at us on any given day.
You name it, it’s out there. And we’re probably going to drive through it.
Madison and I have been doing this for a combined 45 years. She had a Rustler sitting broken in her closet when we met. We fixed it together. She bought a Slash with her own money and handed me the Rustler without hesitating. Just — here, this one’s yours now.
Three years later we have a shelf that makes grown adults stop and stare.
We are not immune to dumb addiction choices. That shelf looks impressive until you factor in the Affirm balance. We are you. Completely.
Four years ago one of us was sleeping on a friend’s couch with a trash bag for luggage and a car that got repoed right as we were getting clean. No plan. No stability. We made a decision then that it was RC cars instead of the other thing. Focus. Purpose. Something that showed real results when you put real work in.
RC cars did that for us. Genuinely.
Now we have a cute apartment, a paid off 2013 Honda Civic that Madison immediately made go vroooom because of course she did, and that shelf.
We built something real from nothing and we intend to keep building it.
Madison
Madison is our driver. Our taste maker. Our whole reason this exists.
She knows every car on that shelf by name and spec and she will talk about RC cars with anyone who will listen for as long as they’ll let her. She builds sick SCX24s. She has very strong opinions about bling that she will share whether you asked or not.
She recently got a Losi NASCAR and we have plans to get her racing box stock at the HobbyTown parking lot series. We’re not there yet. But it’s coming. She’ll be our driver. We’ll tune, fix and get out of her way.
The cars on that shelf are going to be hers someday. Every single one of them is a memory we’re building on purpose.
Our Philosophy
We don’t do fake reviews around here.
If a company sends us something and the build quality is garbage — phillips screws where hex should be, sloppy tolerances, parts that shouldn’t flex flexing — we will sweep it off the bench into the trash on camera and tell you not to buy it. And we’ll politely ask them not to send us any more of that.
Everything we recommend we actually use. Everything we suggest has been on our bench and on our cars.
Now let’s be clear about something — we are not a budget channel. We have a $1,500 Fireteam that doesn’t even have electronics in it yet. We have a custom Team Corally Kagama on a custom chassis with titanium shock towers engraved “Jackie’s Dream.” We go full send when the build calls for it and we don’t apologize for that either.
What we don’t do is spend money just because someone in the comments thinks we should.
We run $27 AGFRC servos in our bashers. Not because we couldn’t spend more. Because they do the job and a parking lot basher doesn’t need a $120 servo. That same logic is why the Kagama has titanium towers — because that build earned it and we knew exactly why we were spending the money.
Know what you’re building. Know what it needs. Don’t let anyone else define what that should cost.
We also don’t have any interest in telling you to spend $800 on the newest version of the same car you already have. But if you’re ready to go deep on a build — we can talk about that too. We’ve been there. We’re probably there right now honestly.
What We Actually Believe
The RC hobby has an elitism problem.
There’s always someone in the comments with a strong opinion about what you should be running, what scale actually matters, what you’re doing wrong.
We don’t believe that.
We rip $79 micro crawlers in the parking lot and have just as much fun as we do with the expensive stuff. A beat up Rustler that runs is worth more than a shelf queen you’re afraid to drive. Every budget. Every brand. Every experience level.
